International Endowment for Democracy : ウィキペディア英語版 | International Endowment for Democracy
The International Endowment for Democracy, or IED, is a U.S. non-profit organization founded in 2006 to help people bring back democracy in the USA. Although founded in the USA and based in New York, its funding comes almost entirely from non-governmental organizations and individuals ''outside'' the USA. The IED was named so in ironic reference and opposition to the National Endowment for Democracy or NED. ==Founding of the IED== The IED was first funded by a handful of left-wing intellectuals (professors, lawyers, journalists, authors) in 2006 and was shaped by an initial study undertaken by them as early as 2005. IED was founded with a view of creating a broad base of international support for the organization. IED received funds from people in Canada, India, Europe, etc. and is meant to distribute funds to other organizations ((where money goes )). IED's first president is the university professor (Bertell Ollman ).
